Toenail Fungus Removal is Harder Because of New Strands – Find Out How to Remove Toe Nail Fungus

Daniel Kooper asked:

Toenail fungus is completely nasty and unfortunately with the new strands that our out today, it is even harder to remove it. Luckily though, there are tons of things you can try. Always follow these tips to help protect against foot fungus, and how to remove it all together.

For toe nail fungus protection

Wear footwear out in public areas – always wear footwear in public places like showers and bathrooms. This is one of the worst places for foot fungus. Always wear shoes when outside if possible. Don’t wear socks when you sleep – sweaty socks are teaming with bacteria. Always take them off when you go to sleep at night.

For the removal of nail fungus:

Cut toenails as low as possible – Trim your toe-nails down as low as you can without hurting or cutting too close to the sensative skin area. Then soak in vinegar – Vinegar works to cure acute nail fungus infections. However, it won’t work on heavier infections as vinegar won’t be able to make it to the root of your nail fungus infection. Try Listerine foot baths - Sometimes vinegar won’t work depending on the strand of foot fungus. I have heard from a  lot of people that listerine foot baths work well – however keep in mind for any foot bath you need to soak your feet in there for at least 20-30 minutes/day for a number of weeks.

If you have a heavier nail fungus infection, home remedies aren’t enough – If you think you have a heavier infection, check out my resource box below for a good solution.

Toenail Fungus – Effective Toenail Fungus Treatment

Tim Faber asked:

Toenail fungus afflicts millions of men (and women) every year. A result of bacteria build-up under the nail’s surface, toenail fungus damages the nail – turning yellow and, and in worse cases, black – deforms and destroys keratin nail cells and underlying skin.

Heat, humidity, lack of circulation, and moisture are no friend, and often accelerate fungal damage. Toenail fungus can be effectively treated with ingredients clinically proven to eradicate fungus and heal the nail. Considering the growth rate of nails and the extent of damage to the nail and skin, recovery can be as short as 60 days, but often takes 3-4 months. And, though there are many “home remedies” out there, using products with active ingredients proven to kill the fungus, restore the nail, and heal underlying skin are your best bet.

What Causes Toenail Fungus?

As the name implies, toenail fungus is a fungal growth that targets the Keratin cells in the nail and destroys nail building tissue. The fungus grows, building on heat, humidity, dirt, oils, dead skin and inflammed tissue. Toenails begin by fading and discoloring – often pale, yellow-ish, and growing in darkness…losing their clarity. Fungus often begins with the nail but begins damaging tissue leading to infection, soreness and inflammation.

Toenail fungus can be painful and is more often embarrassing – especially with summer upon us and as sandals and bare feet become the norm. Outside the most obvious, toenail fungus can worsen – leading to nail loss, gross discoloration and shape, and the need for formal medical treatment coupled with an antibiotics regimen.

How To Avoid Toenail Fungus?

Like athlete’s foot or foot fungus, heat and moisture are the proving grounds for bacteria. Many of us have jobs or physical activites that confine our feet leading to sweating, heat and physical damage. Sores, dirt, oil and lack of proper and adequate air circulation compound the problem. How often have we seen a military movie where troops have suffered from foot fungus and sores caused by long days in difficult conditions while carrying 50 pounds of gear over rough, hot rugged terrain? Invariably, the platoon leaders requires everyone to take off their boots, clean and “air out” their feet. There’s a reason for this.

Infection and bacteria, once they start, are hard to stop. Careful attention to hygiene and treatment are necessary to stop toenail fungus and using targeted skin care helps in the effort. The top recommendations are, however, to keep your feet clean and allow for proper circulation so your feet can dry and lose the moisture. Like any wound or infection, drying helps the healing process and proper cleaning and sanitizing can be put you on the road towards healing.

Toenail Fungus Treatment

In the past several years, several credible active ingredients have taken a “foot hold” (sorry) in the war against toenail fungus. Most prominent has been Tolnaftate that is a complex formulated specifically for toenail fungus. Tolnaftate is used in a number of anti-fungal products for its anti-bacterial properties. It targets and destroys keratin damage (nail) and promotes renewed nail growth, while infusing natural, antiseptic moisturization – thus killing bacteria and helping to heal the skin and nail.

Many formulations are combined with Emu Oil. Emu Oil is a by-product and extract of the Emu – commonly found in Australia. For thousands of years, the Australsians have used Emu Oil for burns, cuts and lacerations, and to heal skin rash. It is an anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory and is “transdermal” – meaning it penetrates deep into the skin and “carries” other active ingredients with it…often making skin care products more effective.

Toenail fungus can be destroyed and fungus eliminated using proper hygiene, taking care of your feet, and using an effective toenail fungus treatment. Nails can be restored to normal shape, color, and growth and underlying skin can be healed.

Treat Toenail Fungus Today – Forget Vinegar and Tea Tree Footbaths – They Don’t Work!

Daniel Kooper
asked:

It’s common for people to recommend vinegar and tea tree footbaths for toenail fungus. Having been at the receiving end of plenty of such advice, I know that only too well. And I don’t want to discount all of it outright, so before I tell you why tea tree oil and vinegar do not work as remedies for toenail fungus, I feel I should tell you exactly what they are supposed to do, starting with…

Can Tea tree oil really treat toenail fungus?

You’ll find plenty of stories about why tea tree oil is one of those fool-proof toenail fungus treatments. It is a highly popular natural remedy for nail fungus, particularly among those who wish to avoid prescription medications for their possible side effects.

Bottled tea tree oil used to treat toe nail fungus comes from the Australian tea tree, whose Latin name is melaleuca alternifolia. It has long been discussed as a possible source of antibacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-viral remedies, and there is some evidence to suggest that it may indeed possess certain properties that make it a suitable treatment for toenail fungus. Yet, there is nothing yet to suggest that tea tree oil will become a scientifically and medically accepted prescription medication anytime soon.

But how exactly does tea tree oil work as a nail fungus remedy? Well, if it has been especially prepared as a remedy for toe nail fungus, tea tree oil will likely be only one of the ingredients in the potion, being blended with other essential oils that are also supposed to treat toenail fungus. Among other oils/liniments used to supplement tea tree oil are dimethylsulfoxide, Vaseline, Vicks Vaporub, and iodine. However, no scientific research has, till date, proven their special powers as remedies for toenail fungus.

Because tea tree oil possesses anti-fungal and antiseptic properties, it is believed that you will obtain satisfactory results by directly applying it to the affected area. It is also supposed to be effective in treating other fungal infections like dandruff and ring worm but personally speaking, I have seen little evidence of tea tree oil’s ability to treat toenail fungus.

Is vinegar the toenail fungus remedy it is claimed to be?

And now, what of vinegar? Well, the supposed efficacy of vinegar is essentially based on its acidic properties, which hampers the growth of toenail fungus. Therefore, the idea is that if you apply vinegar daily, you will eventually restrict the growth of the fungus to the point where it will vanish and leave you with clean, freshly grown toenails.

Apparently, ordinary white vinegar will do the trick if you take a footbath in it for long enough – about a year – but you have to keep at it every day, for 30 minutes at least each day. You may also directly apply the vinegar twice or thrice a day or wear a vinegar-soaked bandage. Some folks also recommend apple cider vinegar as a remedy for toenail fungus, to be taken internally. The popular dosage is two tablespoons thrice daily, but remember, this is acetic acid we are talking about, so it may damage your tooth enamel if you don’t rinse your mouth after taking it.

Luckily, powerful solutions do exist.

I have searched all over the place and I finally found a solution that does the job. The solution ZetaClear not only did it clear up my toenail infections, it did it in very little time. Over about 2 weeks of applying the solution, I noticed a drastic reduction of my toe nail fungus. The best part about this solution as you can apply it to individual nails instead of having to waste a lot of time soaking your feet in the footbaths like Listerine and vinegar. Check out my resource box below for more information on this awesome treatment.
